Despite my daily driver Impreza being essentially beyond reproach, I was bored and needed a change. Enter my new 2016 GTI. I got a 4 door Autobahn Trim with DSG, Performance and lighting packages and couldn't be happier. This car handles amazingly for an fwd and having driven a non performance pack car you can absolutely feel a difference leaving corners thanks to the LSD.

The engine has gobs of torque and at altitude the turbo is a breath of force-fed fresh air. I can finally pass other cars without any fuss.

One thing that I do not like about the car is that my mother in law backed into it on the second day of ownership and did $1200 of damage to the rear fender, but mechanically it's fine and I get to drive like a complete cunt.

Seriously though - those are super nice cars. I loved my GTI (for the time I had it). It was the last generation, so I imagine that this is even better. From the reviews I've read, it certainly sounds like it is. What's with the DSG though?
