Yep. I hear you man. If I go back to buying something new(ish), after the MG. And it's not something practical (for diving / camping / hiking / photography etc), I think it'll be the Subaru version of that car. Took a close look at one last year and really liked it. Great feel in the drivers seat. Seems about the right size (unlike the Veloster / Genesis coup). And all the reviews have said it's basically as good as it gets, for the price range. Still need to drive one, though.

The Subaru version needs a turbo. The Toyota version can stay slow like everything else they make nowadays.

That was before they got the power bump. In 2010 they got the 265hp (supposedly underrated) and are capable of 4.7 0-60 and low to mid 13s in the 1/4. And that was really just supposed to be a crack about how Toyota decided to stop making sports cars.

They have identical engines. If the Sub gets a turbo, so will the Toyota. I've also heard rumors the Toyota one will be dumped and Subaru is working with BMW for an engine. No idea if that's true.

I wouldn't be surprised if they both get dumped. Cool little car, but way too expensive. It was only like a grand cheaper than the WRX. They need to be closer to 20k than 25k to make it worth it.

I think i'm just mad that they put them in the same scca autocross class as my 25 year old 240. So not fair I've been getting raped ever since they came out.

They should at least make a turbo version like Hyundai does with the Veloster. It could compete with the 370z. Right now the fastest ive seen is a 14.9 1/4 mile. Realistically 15s. Maybe you can beat some minivans with it.
