Really? While I haven't been here for a while, I can see that you are full of yourself.
CVN-81 will most likely be named after one of the 19 Presidents that haven't had Naval ships named after them. Donald Trump will probably be at the bottom of the barrel, IF it gets built.
Plus since you are so sure that he will have an 8-year term, CVN-81 isn't proposed to be finished until 2023 and he will still be in office, so his name won't end up on it.

Buddy, I was just tossing it around as a number to use as it follows what will be the next CVN-80 Enterprise. Jeesh!I don't care what CVN it may be. The idea of a future CVN being named Donald J. Trump hi-lights my point that I feel the USA and the rest of the world will be impressed with President Donald J. Trump. He will likely prove to be a transformative President.
I will say this the current President will likely never get a CVN named after him. President Obama who made awful decisions, divided a nation badly and much worse than the idiot he followed, George W. Bush. A man who set back race relations in the USA by 50 years and spent the last year or so of his sad 8 years by basically doing fuck all, deserves only being tossed out to the sidewalk on Jan. 20 2017.
President Donal J. Trump will be a mover and a shaker as POTUS.
SBF wrote:If that's what you really think, than you are more delusional than I thought. Obama wasn't perfect, but he wasn't worse than Bush in any respect and to say that really shows that you know not what you speak of. No wonder these guys here are sick of your bullshit political rhetoric. You don't even live in the US, so you're the last person who I would even consider having a rational political discussion with, let alone the condition of "Race Relations". The way you talk about Trump makes it sound like he whispers sweet nothings in your ear while you give handies in a janitor closet. You sound no worse than the ignorant hillrods that live down here.
We'll see how he does as POTUS, but it's not going to be as awesome as you think it's going to be. Hopefully he has gotten his head out of his ass and fully understands what he was voted to do and doesn't spend his presidency trying to sue everyone who's said bad things about him and doesn't royally fuck up our relations with our allies with his cocky attitude.

Oh so you are ok with the traumatizing child abuse that cunt bitch did to her 8 year old son? And you wonder why Trump won?

I've seen things I didn't like. I've witnessed tragedies. I've had a lot of disagreements with our country's policy decisions. I've watched our government carry out wars on abstract concepts that none of us wanted in the first place.
But I've never been ashamed of my country. I've never been ashamed to be an American.
Until today.

Although this isn't politically correct, there's a kind of sacred mythology built up around 9/11. About 3,000 people died. That's obviously bad, but as horrible as this might sound, worse things have happened. In terms of strict utilitarian "bad," the greatest harm to the greatest number of people, many things have been worse, and many things in the future will be worse. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were probably worse overall.
Trump, with a Republican Congress and multiple Supreme Court picks, is potentially the end of American democracy and freedom. It's hard to overstate the potential harm. Consider what he's already done. He's put a white-supremacist publisher in the White House, together with the Republican Party chairman. He's threatened political opponents with prosecution. He's refused to even acknowledge his many conflicts of interest involving his businesses, and he's already reportedly wielded political power for personal profit (in the phone call with the Argentine prime minister regarding a business project).
If you think there's no way a Trump presidency could be worse than 3,000 people dying, you've got another think coming...

Oh Gawd please help us. It was HRC that you should have feared the break down of US style democracy. She was the one looking for war with Russia, she was the one who wants OPEN BORDERS! She wants to expand and keep flooding the USA with people, mostly unvetted of a religion (I say a cult) that has never in 1400 years and does not assimilate. Trump probably will do more to save the US style of democracy. And G. DAMMIT! there is no White Supremacist publisher or any other person of such in Trump's soon to be W.H. nor is there any established White Supremacy in the USA. FOR FUCK SAKES STOP BUYING INTO THE 100% BULLSHIT OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA!!! Polls show only 6% of Americans trust it anymore so you should not either.
You save this post, mark my words after 8 years Trump will be seen as one of the best Presidents in US history. Jesus Christ he is and will not be, he will make mistakes, he will have to horse trade and compromise but he will be on the right side of history.

It's going to (probably) work out fine for Les because he's Canadian, and can have the luxury of his delusions up here in Canada. He has connection to the States. No, real, vested interest in what Trump does to Americans.
sombrio wrote:And this is the problem. The rubes don't care whether it's good policy or not. They just want to stick it to the libruls. As FARK would say, STIGGINT!
Massive corruption? Policy blunders? Rich getting richer while "real Amurricans" languish in a hopeless economy? Disrespecting the founding documents conservatives claim to love so much? No problem. Trump got elected so libruls are cryin! MAGA! STIGGINT!
It also says a lot, Les, that you completely ignored the points I made and chose to go off on a tangent about Canada being dependent on America and libruls crying. You can't even respond to a basic argument. You're completely incapable of having a meaningful discussion. No wonder you like Trump.

What bums me out is all the riots and protests against trump. He was voted in. Democratically. And he hasn't done anything wrong... Yet...
I don't like the guy, I don't like the lady, but I wish him all the best. And hey, even as a president, he's got heaps of people around him, stopping him from doing the stupidest things. I'm sure it'll all work out fine.
Bummed out Democrats, stupid SJW's and other liberals/socialists only care about violence and protests if these are done against them. When they are themselves doing so it's all ok. Now of course they have the right to peaceably protest, nobody who believes in Constitutional rights will want to stop them from doing so, if they are keeping the peace. That said other than blowing off some steam and such, nothing will come from their protests.
