I was going to get an auto model and do the manual conversion down the track. Even the coupes are 95% auto but converting a sedan would be better for resale value. Even though this is a keeper, a 4 door manual N54 is probably the way to go demand-wise, given the 135i could be the affordable collectible coupe with the 1M the unattainable classic.
This car would have been $110k new in Aus. Although they were much cheaper in the UK, ours came pretty much fully optioned. I.e although mine is a MSport model with comfort access and GPS, it is missing electric, heated seats (in the UK!), the digital tv tuner and sunroof. I’m really hoping BMWs are like Porsches, where people pay a premium for manual hard tops with sunroof delete and minimal electrics. You can’t give away a used 911 convertible...
