Still, Tut was right after all. Here in rootin', tootin', pollutin' Oz there are no govt. incentives for buying hybrid or diesel. They are bought purely on economy grounds, and are super popular thanks to the rise of the family SUV. I always thought it strange that new cars could spurt disgusting black smoke every time a driver floored it. It used to be the odd 80s hippymobile with an ironically/infuriatingly out of tune engine. Now it's like we're in a city full of buses.

I think the US govnt still gives up to $7500 tax credit for an electric car.

Reminds me when the housing market was shit and the govnt was offering an $8000 new home buyers credit. Lucky for me, I was all over that!
