There is a difference with freeway driving here vs. L.A. though - our entrances are long downhill slopes. Yours are short and uphill. Worst-case scenario for an underpowered car.

I'm sure they could. The car I learned stick on was a 1987 Nissan Sentra. It had 70hp and weighed about 2200lbs. I got it up to at least 105mph one time (speedo cut off at 105). It felt like it was going to explode, but it got there.

It depends on the person. I just meant I have no need for a street car that fast. My car is in the 12s somewhere I imagine, that's plenty fast enough for me. Of course after driving a car that runs 10s I may not want to go back.

I did 120mph in a 108hp Honda CRX. Pretty sure a Metro could reach the speed limit.

I was in a building last week with about 35 challenger hellcats in it. 8===D

And for reference my 101 HP fiat can go 100+ without putting up a fight, my samurai struggles to go over 65

1989 Geo Metro 3-door, 1.0L 3-cylinder engine
1585lbs./55bhp/58ft-lbs
supposed top speed is ("theoretically") ~80. Supposedly they have a governor, but I couldn't find whether it's a sped gov. or a rev limiter, or at what speed it would cut off.

best info I can find on a stock vehicle. Used first MY, lightest model, with most powerful engine (there is a model with 49hp, built for fuel econ)
