I'm amazed at where 0-60 times are right now. And I imagine they must be getting at least somewhat irrelevant...

I remember when the 996 Turbo came out - back in 2000 / 2001, I think. It did 0-60 in 4.0 seconds, and I thought that was just mind bendingly fast.

Now it's like every other sports and performance car is handily beating that time. A new V8 Mustang is barely slower than that 911, now. And I think the new 911 Turbo hits that same speed in a second less or something insane.

Most scary are the mid size V6 sedans with crazy low 0-60 times and usually crappy drivers.

Are you kidding? A 997 Turbo S's 0-60 time is just a few tenths shy of a Veyron's.
