Thanks dudes. Tut, the 6.5 (Evo 6 Tommi Makkinen Edition) was the first Evo officially sold here. 5s were only sold in Japan.

Wally, 4 cars for now: Evo, MR2, CLK and A3. Never had a Subaru but I wanted a 98-99 WRX and ended up with this. Always liked the Evo 5, especially given it was the last Group A rally car to win the WRC constructors' title despite being up against WRC class rivals.

The A3 is mine in name only, so it's out of the other 3...including the Evo. I might decide in a month that I've had my fun but that it's a bit too overt now I'm in my mid-30s.
They all have their pros and cons. The CLK will probably be advertised first, simply because my kayak fell on the MR2 and dented its door.

Thanks! The wheels have changed from the original picture. I bought a used set of 8.5 and 9.5" SE37ks to go on the Merc. But having bought the Evo with heavy knock offs that stuck out past the fenders, I decided to put the 9.5s on the rear of the MR2 and be left with a set of 8.5s all round for the Evo.
I needed to get matching tyre sizes all round and the guy who ran the shop I went to bought the old wheels from me to use on his R32 GTR.
I reckon the SE37k is the best wheel around, being super lightweight and with styling suited to most cars.

Merc, A3 and MR2 gone. First time without an MR2 of some sort since 2003.

A3 has been replaced by a Renault Koleos. Evo has a friend - 2007 335i. The sedan was auto-only in Aus, but I tracked down a manual one brought in by someone who moved from Scotland to Western Australia (personal import rule).

I was going to get an auto model and do the manual conversion down the track. Even the coupes are 95% auto but converting a sedan would be better for resale value. Even though this is a keeper, a 4 door manual N54 is probably the way to go demand-wise, given the 135i could be the affordable collectible coupe with the 1M the unattainable classic.

This car would have been $110k new in Aus. Although they were much cheaper in the UK, ours came pretty much fully optioned. I.e although mine is a MSport model with comfort access and GPS, it is missing electric, heated seats (in the UK!), the digital tv tuner and sunroof. I’m really hoping BMWs are like Porsches, where people pay a premium for manual hard tops with sunroof delete and minimal electrics. You can’t give away a used 911 convertible...
