But even then you guys might get used to my tinfoil hat conspiracies and and trolling, so I will start posting "funny" pictures that are way too oversized and will implement a creepy signature on my posts, one that makes sure you remember my tinfoil hat is too tight. I will whine about known boogeyman "teh socializm!" and also bring up a thinly veiled anti-immigrant rant that makes you wonder if I have joined some sort of message board group that gets people into govt watchlists for posting or even visiting there. </Les>

Obviously you read my post, but I don't force anyone to read or respond to my thoughts. I post for me, what you and others do is your business but the stats show the posts are being viewed. It's too bad you can't reply with counter points if you have disagreement, but only to personally attack me. Your loss.

BTW, these are not random capital letters, it's me noting in a loud way some points I want to make clear. The rest of your rant again is just a childish personal attack than it is a proper counter point discussion to mine.

My sig is just a way of noting a few points of view. As to socialism, how's that working in Venezuela for one? That said, my sig on socialism is 100% true, try to deny it? As too are my points on US Republicans trying to out Democrat the Democrats. Same goes with immigration without assimilation in just being another type of invasion. Look at much of Europe today to see how that has been going.

Immigration? I have no problems with it if they come to fit in and contribute positively to society while leaving all their past issues/problems behind, for many that is back at their previous shit hole nations, as well as not try to enforce religious/cultural ideals that can be seen and running against the free and democratic ideals of their new society they have come to.

Just some general observations, and not in this thread necessarily, but more towards the media:

1) AR-15s are NOT AUTOMATIC! Stop saying automatic rifles you twits. They are semi-automatic. One pull, on round.

2) AR in AR-15 does NOT STAND FOR ASSAULT RIFLE! It stand for ARmaLite, and the 15 stand for the 15th design. The rifle was designed in the 50s by ArmaLite and was sold to Colt in the 60s.

3) Orlando shithead didn't use an AR-15, he used a Sig MCX. They are similar, but not the same. If you think he shouldn't have legally been allowed to buy the rifle then, he wouldn't have if he were still on the wanted list. Hindsight and all.......

4) The shooters in San Bernardino acquired their firearms illegally via straw purchase. California has the strictest gun laws in the country... by, like, a lot. Interestingly enough, the terrorist shitbags didn't follow the laws. Crazy, I know.

5) Is it possible for a civi to buy an M16 (an actual full auto version of the AR-15)? Yes. But, the red tape and strings attached are pretty insane. Plus, it would be extremely expensive. Say you found an M-16 lower at a local Class 3 dealer (which are few and far between due to teh cost and time involved), which is much different than a 'regular' gun shop. Think, it would take probably a year for you to own it and cost between $20,000-$30,000 depending on the condition.

6) The 223 is not a high powered round. Well, I guess it depends on what you're comparing it to, but as far as rifle rounds... it's quite weak. Here, you're not allowed to use it to hunt deer for that very reason. Compare a 223 to a 762x51 (.308), 30-06, .30, etc, etc. The Military went to the 223 from the bigger rounds because it was smaller and lighter.

7) Every time a tragedy happens and the government uses it as a crutch to attack firearms, gun sales go through the roof. This is the American people trying to tell the government that they [the people] want the ability to buy and own firearms.

It was a bit long-winded given I said law changes would be pointless. And not allowing terrorists to buy guns legally would hardly make a dent in the homicide rate given terrorism is all about scaring people like Les, to whom statistics are meaningless. It is a verified fact that more Americans died in 2002 from choosing to drive cross-country in lieu of flying, than died in the actual terrorist attacks the previous year.

The argument about the NRA disappearing if American citizens stop buying memberships ignores the fact it isn't really principally funded by memberships. Herr Heckler and Herr Koch must be laughing in unarmed Germany, while funding the argument that the only solution to regular mass shootings is for more of the American public to arm themselves.

Australia was a small enough market that when the government restricted the laws here, the shooter's association was able to work with lawmakers to come up with a practical approach. Before the changes, uzis were legal for security guards in Tasmania. After the massacre, the states gave up their individual rights for a national approach.
Obviously, Australia does not have the constitutional baggage of rights created at a time of revolution. But the main difference between here and there is politicians here on both sides seem to genuinely want to improve the country. A lot of the time they don't know what they're doing and misunderstand everything from economics to basic living requirements. But their intentions are sound.

In America it seems like the nature of campaigning means politicians are either so deeply indebted to their commercial funders, or motivated by personally profiting from the success of being associated with companies given favorable treatment, that the welfare of actual voters is no longer on the radar. Which is a shame.

I am not sure of the statistics and finances of the various firearm companies out there. But, yea, HK, Sig Sauer, Beretta, Glock, etc are all foreign. In order to be sold here, X amount of parts must be manufactured here so all of the mentioned companies have satellite companies in the US. Some parts are made abroad and shipped here to be finished/assembled.

I do agree with your last paragraph 100%. And that's not just with guns, but environment, schooling, etc etc etc. It is ridiculous.
